For beginners and maybe a reminder for the rest uf us;-)
Getting to know the fretboard of the bass guitar using target notes and arpeggios.
I use simple major and minor triads in the examples – root , third and fifth
It’s one thing to be great at your craft but teaching skills are a totally different skill. It’s great news for all of us your both. Although this is such a basic thing to know the way you explained it I’ve never seen before. Donation gladly on it’s way.
No, the term inversions is usually used for describing the order of a chords notes, ie take a C major triad 1 (root), 3( third), 5 (fifth).
1, 3 , 5 is root position (try and play as an arpeggio)
3, 5, 1 is first inversion
5, 1, 3 is second inversion
Awesome! Awesome! Great Lesson…its amazing how something so simple has such a massive impact on my playing. thanks marlow.
Thank you for sharing this information. I can see how this will allow me to traverse the fretboard. Will it be available in a downloadable format?
Thanks for the great lesson!! Learning the fret board and notes can be quite a challenge at times without good examples. You made it simpler and much more practical.
