A dream come true, playing Larry Grahams bass on stage with the Master himself:-)
Venue is “Jazz by the Sea” at Copenhagen Jazz festival 2011
I wont wash my thumb for a long time:-D
A thin guy with a white bass hides behind a fat guy in the start of the video – I guess he is shy;-)
The sound is unfortunately very shitty, but you can hopefully get an idea of the vibe.
Notice the two local danish guys in the hornsection, trumpet player is Michael Millfield

THANK YOUI LARRY GRAHAM! FOR THE INSPIRATION!

UPDATE April 13

New split screen test for my upcoming “Beginning Slap Bass DVD”, and this time the question is:

Should I include both version of split screeens and if yes, which is the most important to show first – the one which favors the fretting hand or the one favoring the plucking hand?

Focus on left fretting hand

Click here to view the embedded video.

Focus on right plucking hand

Click here to view the embedded video.

***********

All below is from the old test:

THANK YOU all for your input:-), I agree that the first one that uses the whole screen area is best – but in “defense” of the second: I was maybe ay thinking of including some tab/text in the empty black squares.

But I think that will be included on another screen.

Another thing – there will probably be NO talking at all on this DVD – just playing and closeups more “internationally” usable

ETA – probably beginning of June

No digital downloads – if its going to get illegally copied… it will at least require some work!

**********

Hi all

As some of you might know, Im working on a beginning slap bass DVD.

And I want to get your opinions on “split screen” breakdowns of basslicks

So, watch the two examples of a closeup lick “breakdown” and put a comment of which format you would prefer

Other suggestions are also welcome:-)

(The final product will be in color)

cheers

Hope this is a useful insight into what the bass is like, it’s not an exhaustive review, there’s many more sounds that can be got from the bass from your hands and different EQ settings.
