The pentatonic scale is a 5 note scale, therefore it can start on 5 different steps/positions.
If you take any other scale the same applies
For example the Major scale, it is a 7 note scale, thus it can be played in 7 different positions
To find any position on any scale just play the scale on one string for example the E string

Question: Do the 5 positions of the Pentatonic scale apply to all "scales" (i.e., EMajor, FMajor, GMajor, Bminor, Aminor...etc?).

Hi everyone. I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts on a tuner to use while gigging. I don't (yet anyway) have a 5-string, so I end up having to drop my E to play a low Db on some songs and I would like something that has a pretty fast response and is easy to read. Rack mount or pedal, really doesn't matter. Thanks!

Not for nothing, Fender Squier basses are pretty awesome now a days! You can pick up a pretty decent 4 string Jazz for around $250 or so. When you're ready, changing out the pickups to active is a breeze and pretty inexpensive too. Hope that helps!

Hi guys! I've been playing bass for about 3 years now, and the bass i currently have is a second-hand aria pro from japan. Recently I've been having problems with it since after almost every song it goes out of tune. It is second-hand so its no surprise. I'm not that rich, maybe I can spend up to $250 max. I've looked up cheap basses and so far the only thing that caught my eye is the Yamaha RBX 374.

What basses could you suggest? Thanks!

Hi guys, I'm new here and really new to bass as such, I've played with many bass players over the last 20 years as a drummer and know what difference a good rig makes. I'm looking at getting a rig for my studio/myself to use while I recover from spinal surgery (I'm a drummer/recording engineer) and am really interested in the Terror Bass series, as I don't like clinical cleans is it looks/and from what I've heard and read like it would be a great studio rig and a great live rig but I'm just wondering if the 1000 watt version would give you any usable extra headroom over the 500 watt, mainly for clean's I guess?

I am thinking of either of the set-ups below -

Terror Bass 1000 with the SP410 cab
Terror Bass 500 with the SP 212 cab or may be even x SP212's

I'd really appreciate any feedback you guys have, I'm a loud drummer so I know the importance of having a capable rig live, I also know the importance of buying wise first time round. I'm a classic rock, blues kinda guy, I do like funk as well, classic disco, Jacksons etc so I slapping and so on is in the mix (when I learn how to!!!) but as a drummer I have never cared for tweeters on bass rigs.

Cheers

Many have been the times when I`m noodling around on my bass and I come up with a riff or melody that I want to remember and get down there and then without messing about booting up my computer and forgetting the riff, what do people use these days to record an idea instantly and cheaply now the cassette recorder is no more?

Just traded my Fender Standard Fretless Jazz (MIM with an old badly bowed neck) for a Epiphone Viola. Tried the Hofner, and really liked it... it was very light... but I liked the Epi's tone knobs over the Hofner's switches (no adustability, just on or off) and I liked the Epi's neck slightly better, too. I'm enjoying playing it through my "new" Peavey Mark IV.

I play a Warwick Streamer Std. I bought it second hand about three years ago and I still haven't applied new strings on it. Maybe I should buy some new ones soon

Hello Mr. Marrone

I assume, like me, you are here to leach files or spam then move on never to return. I did take the time to listen to the recording.

You my friend have some very serious timing issues that will prevent you from working in the music industry if that happens to be your chosen vocation.

I did not "like it" one bit.

It' really pointless to offer any suggestion as far as how to resolve this problem you are having but I will try in the interest of contributing to this forum

I suggest you stop playing for a while and see if the bad habits you have picked up go away if you dicide to resume doing "music" again. Most likely they will return and it will be a trainwreck all over again.

I would also suggest that during the time you do not play try and study art, painting, poetry, writing or whatever, You may be better suited to a lower art form. You might as well learn the basics of math while you are at it.

On the other hand but one percent of the jootube audience held my point of view. What the hell has this world turned into? I surrender.
