A bluesy jazzy bass lick using mostly the mixolydian scale with chromatic passing notes
Support PlayBassNow and download original video, transcription/TAB and mp3 version here
Yes, the jazzy vibe is popular. Pentatonic is great, but stretching out a bit is helpful. Learned quite a bit from the videos.
Very Nice Marlowe…but is it ok to practice everyday each day for 5 hrs straight when you just started playing the bass?
I absolutely love this one – but it’s a bit beyond my standard! Something to aspire to though. Btw, I can’t seem to find any way of looping these videos – am I being stupid MarloweDK?
It will part of volume 5 of the transcriptions
hi Marlow can please make a tab for thtat L294 lick?
I’m really feeling you now. Sweet pocket.
I make the licks i feel like in the moment, but ill bear in mind that the “jazzy” vibe is popular;-)
Cool lick.
Reminds me of Frank Zappa
Hi Marlowe,
I like this jazzy lick. Can you make some more videos on jazzy licks the coming weeks?
Thank you,
Naomi
this is a loop from a sample cd i use in garageband – ill make an mp3 for ya’ll. But for this lick any straigth 8ths or 16ths rhythm will do;-)
Hi MarloweDK,
what drum machine are you using for your licks?
Can you post some patterns, loops or settings?
My problem is to find a valid way to play your licks using my drum machine (GrooveAgent) so i like to know wath are my alternatives. (I own a Pandora PX5D too). Thanks a lot for your job!

Would like to donate but I know nothing about these tabs or how to read them
Are tabs simple to read (to understand?)
Please help before I donate to get the licks and the tabs
Thank you
